Choose a green electricity offer
You won't be able to reduce your Internet-related electricity consumption to zero. And the goal of this column is not to suggest a return to the Stone Age. But you can also act in the service of the environment by favoring more responsible contracts.

Major energy suppliers such as EDF, Total, Eni or Engie all offer green electricity offers. These suppliers then undertake to obtain certificates called “guarantees of origin”, which are supposed to prove that a quantity of electricity equivalent to what you have consumed has been produced in a renewable installation and injected into the network.

These offers are a first step but for some observers they are part of a greenwashing approach . The most convinced among you can turn to energy suppliers who are truly committed to a green energy production approach. Enercoop and Ilek, for example, offer better guarantees with real transparency on their production sites.
